Abia State Governor Urges Nigerian Immigration Service To Ensure Illegal Immigrants Are Flush Out Of The State

The governor was speaking while receiving the new comptroller of immigration posted to the state. The governor, who observed that the issue of illegal immigrants is not peculiar to the state, said that some of them have been involved in criminal activities.

Theodore, said, “Make sure that we fish out this people. There are many of them working in factories in Aba without papers, so you don’t know their intentions. So the best thing to do is when such people are apprehend, they should go back to wherever they have come from and it is our duty as government to encourage you, to give you the enablement so that you will work.”

The new controller, Anthonia Opara, restated the command’s determination to flush out all illegal immigrants in the state. She revealed that the command has already repatriated seven hundred illegal immigrants from Abia state.
