2014 World Cup: Wenger Issues Ghana Threat

Less than two weeks before the 2014 World Cup kicks off in Brazil on 12 June, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has issued a warning to Germany and Portugal. According to the French coach, Ghana pose a huge threat to both European countries' ambitions at the football showpiece. The Arsenal boss also warned the two countries not to underestimate Ghana in Brazil.
Writing in his Eurosport World Cup preview column, Wenger stated that he believes that the The Black Stars have the capability to do massive damage to the huge egos of the Group G favourites.

“Germany and Portugal might be the favourites, but be careful of Ghana!.
“They almost reached the semifinals in South Africa. They have a good team,” Wenger said.
Ghana will play USA in their first match scheduled to take place in Natal on June 16 before their clashes with the two powerhouses.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid teammate Pepe have been declared unfit for Portugal's World Cup warm-up match against Brazil-bound Greece on Saturday.
"Ronaldo will be with us but will not play... and Pepe will also not play," Portugal coach Paulo Bento said Friday.
Ronaldo sustained the injury late in the season, but Bento said there was no specific timetable to get the Portugal captain back on the pitch.
"We're not going to set down a calendar for his return to competition," Bento said, adding that he wanted to take "no risk".
